The Alarming and Troublesome Global Warming Issue

Global warming has been one of the most challenging problems our society has encountered and people dont acknowledge that our climate change is becoming worse as the time goes by. Climate change which is said to be the regular or ordinary weather in an environment consists of patterns like seasons and temperature. Climate patterns play such an important role in constructing an essential ecosystem, human economies and cultures that rely on them has raised the surface of the worlds oceans in recent decades by melting glaciers and causing seawater to expand as it warms. Another example is the Loggerhead sea turtle which is another animal that is highly being threatened by the sea-level rise be cause the sea levels impact the sea turtles nesting beach. Due to the melting of ice caps and rising sea levels, Northern America beaches are beginning to vanish. Therefore, warmer ocean temperatures are also likely to impact food resources for sea turtles in a negative approach, and essentially all marine species. A highly essential and important food for the sea turtles is the coral reef which is in very poor conditions in the U.S territory. As a result of rising temperatures, coral reefs are in pain and facing hardships from a bleaching effect that is known to kill off portions of the reef. In the article, â€Å"Assessing the Environmental Impact of Beach Nourishment† by Charles H. Peterson, he discusses that such beach â€Å"nourishment† can bury shallow reefs and degrade other beach habitats. The effects of the sea turtles such as the Loggerhead sea turtles are being endangered, â€Å"development along ocean shorelines entails substantial risk of property loss, i n recognition of the vulnerability of coastal development to shoreline erosion and flooding, and in response to the value of fish and wildlife habitat† (Peterson).
